This is a good thesis! I think you should say "can be distracting from school and work". I think that you just left out the "a" but just in case. Can't wait to see your rough draft.
I really like this focus, Heather. I think you are arguing that the the surveys are not such a great thing. Think about what sorts of research can help you with this - look for things about why we take surveys, why we join social networking sites. Think too about outlining the "dangers" of these quizzes and the benefits. Do they encourage getting to know others or are they only wastes of time that no one but the person taking them reads. This is a really good start. Can't wait to see where you go from here. Jen
