Rhetorical Advertising
I chose to use the "Spanish Riding School"
The Vienna advertisement uses the emotional appeal of kid's dreams to define the identity of Vienna. The Spanish Ridding School ad is directed towards people planning a European vacation. Similarly, "Respect" appeals more to the audience's logic and by defining the character of Budweiser as a company. Budweiser used this ad to portray themselves as an American company and was directed to an American Audience.

ReplyDeleteThese both sound like good ads. It might be helpful to your blog group members if you posted the URL or a link to the ads - so they could see them.
The next thing is to think about what sort of argument you want to make. I really like the way you tie the Bud ad to how the company is selling itself. They are trying to identify the company (to build ethos) by being patriotic and serious. How does this counter the traditional image of Budweiser? I love that you are focusing on the intended American audience. Would this ad work for those who live outside this country? How are they building this identity? Consider the use of images, of colors, of music, etc.
I think the Bud ad might make a great topic.

Since there was no link I am going off of what you said about each ad. I would say to go with the Budweiser ad not only because Jen thinks so but because of the way you are able to describe it in words.
